About

Helen was born and raised in the Antelope Valley.  Today she still lives there, on the west side of the valley, near the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve.
Helen Henry and her husband have 2 boys. She joined the Lancaster Photographers club in 2006. When asked how she got started in photography, Helen said she took a trip to Italy in 2004 and took a little 3-megapixel point and shoot camera. When she got home, her pictures were horrible, so the family decided to buy a better camera.
Today Helen has a Canon 1DS Mark III camera and a variety of lenses. She shoots mostly with her 24-300 telephoto. Her favorite kind of photography is wildlife, and of course travel, she says.
Her skills developed from Novice to the Master’s Category in just a few years after taking lessons from Tylene Trout, attending workshops and going on as many field trips as she could.
Currently, Helen is the competition chair for the LPA for the second year and on the board of directors for the LPA and the Southern California Council of Camera Clubs.  She is also chairperson for the Creative section of  S4C.

She is also the Director for Region 10, PSA.
